Workshop Title: The Screenwriting Toolkit

Workshop Summary: A hands-on workshop introducing participants to the basic tools of screenwriting. A practical foundation for anyone looking to write and create compelling stories for screen.
Course Outcomes An understanding of story structure, visual storytelling, character development and arc, genre and themes, formatting, pitching and the filmmaking process.
Short personal biography:
Margaret Kane-Rowe is an emerging, writer, director, producer, and arts facilitator based in Co Kildare, Ireland. She received the Kildare County Council, Short Grass Film Bursary for her first short film, Duck Egg Blue in 2019, the South Dublin County Council Film Award 2020 for her short thriller, Mask, and the Ardan Directors Bursary for her horror proof of concept, Shadow Fable. Most recently she received the Kildare Short Grass Film Fund 2025 for the short script Holly. Her films have been nominated and shortlisted in film festivals throughout Ireland, and worldwide, included Best International Short at Focus Wales film festival, a Bafta qualifying festival. Margaret is an award-winning scriptwriter, and a finalist in prestigious script writing competitions including Outstanding Screenplays, The Script Lab, Filmmatic and Nashville Film Festival.
