Newsletter May 2025

Newsletter MAY 2025

Dear Subscribers and friends of Kildare Writing Centre,

I hope this finds you well as we all enjoy these early Summer days of continuous sunshine.

What’s rare is really wonderful.

As I am enjoying this season, I have to think ahead too and I am putting together the Autumn schedule, which I will announce in the June Newsletter. Once again it will have some of the staples here at KWC with 5 week courses on the short story and on life writing, but also I will continue to bring in guest facilitators for workshops and courses. So lots to look forward to when the days start to close in come September!

In the meantime there are still exciting things happening before the Summer recess.

  • Poetry Workshop
  • Screenwriting Workshop
  • June Fest ‘Summer Miscellany’
  • The Well-Made Story: A workshop on the craft and form of storytelling.

June Fest Summer Miscellany.

Summer Miscellany - ‘Celebrating the Past’

Thursday 5th June 2025

20:00 - 22:00

St Patrick's Church

4 Moorefield Road Newbridge, County Kildare, W12 HN15

Kildare writers and musicians come together to share their creative take on the theme ‘Celebrating the Past’. The evening promises to be an enchanting trip down memory lane as we step back in time and embrace the ghosts of who we were and the people we have become. This event is a delightful way of celebrating local talent in writing and music. Previously in 2013, we had the June Fest Literary event in St. Patricks church and it was a magical summer evening. 2025 promises to be just as special. Writing Groups from around Kildare will be introducing themselves and showcasing their work on the night, so if you were thinking of joining a writers group, this would be a particularly helpful event for you.
