Creative Non Fiction

Kildare Writing Centre is delighted to be back in person. This one-day event is designed, through activities, instruction, reading and discussion, to equip you with the ideas, skills, and determination to begin and continue ‘your’ story. The entire day from 10am to 4pm will take place in the Centre, where, along with the coursework, you will be provided with morning refreshments and a mid-day meal (with some produce from the garden!) 

Hopefully the weather will allow the breaks and lunch to take place on the Patio. Places are limited to 8, so you can expect a comfortable dynamic to share any writing done on the day, and as experience has informed me, you can expect fun and laughter as well as the serious business of writing. 

10.00am-11.30am • Introductions • Defining memoir • Why memoir? • Getting started. 

11.30am -11.45am • Morning break (all refreshments provided) 

11.45am -1pm • Turning yourself into a character. • Thinking on every page. 

1pm-2pm • Lunch (provided by the Centre) 

2pm-4pm. • Structure and voice • Storytelling in life-writing. 

Class numbers will not exceed eight.
